Top 3 Beach Resorts
Here are my Top 3 Beach Resorts not in Mexico, Hawaii or the Caribbean. Yes, there are amazing beach resorts outside of the "hot spots" around the world and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. The list could have easily been, "Top 300 Beach Resorts" but I wanted to keep it personal and share with you resorts I have actually visited.
1. Little Palm Island – Little Torch Key, Florida, United States
It’s no secret that the United States is full of amazing vacation destinations and although the majority of the beach resorts are on the west-coast, this east-coast beach resort might be the best of the best. I will warn you, this is not a family resort, and there are no guests under the age of 16 allowed. Do your dreams take you to a place where the sea dazzles in the late-afternoon sun? A place so remote that you can only reach it by sea-plane or boat? That piece of paradise exists, lying discreetly off the Florida Keys coastline. Discovered over two decades ago, Little Palm Island has been the escape of choice for presidents, high profile celebrities and savvy travelers alike. The magic of this island is its exclusive location where a captivating view exists in every direction. Little Palm island is 5 ½ acres of paradise with only 30 oceanfront suites. All Bungalow Suite, Premium Bungalow Suite and Island Grand Suite guest quarters are housed in thatched roof bungalows, with custom-made beds with romantic mosquito netting, so plush some guests never want to leave. There are no telephones or televisions, the only distractions are the outdoors and each other.
2. Elounda Beach Hotel, Crete, Greece
We have all seen the movies where the star is transported from the hotel to their destination in a luxury car or limo, maybe even via helicopter or private jet; this is "that hotel". Located on the island of Crete is the Elounda Beach Hotel, a captivating luxury resort. The 215 rooms and suites are tastefully decorated and provide all the modern amenities. For more privacy, the suites offer private heated swimming pools in a secluded garden or on the waterfront. In the perfect setting, on the water front, guests can enjoy a long drink or a cocktail at the Veghera Jetty Bar or dine in one of the multi-cuisine Restaurants. For the energetic person, a number of leisure activities are offered by the hotel. Guests can go on a Laser sailing boat, try their hand at a course in wind surfing, or play a volleyball game on the beach.
3. Banyan Tree Seychelles, Mahe, Seychelles
In my opinion, this might be one of the top 25 resorts in the world. The Banyan Tree Seychelles is located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Madagascar; this is not a "typo", it’s in the Indian Ocean. Nestled in Intendance Bay with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean, one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, swaying palm trees, sweeping ocean coast-line and lush tropical forest, the Banyan Tree hotel and spa resort in Seychelles provides a rare taste of paradise. Its 60 stunning pool villas combine contemporary, colonial and ‘plantation’ décor; from high sloping ceilings, airy verandas and louvered doors to ethnic woven textiles. The eclectic villa interiors provide a true sense of place – allowing you to experience Banyan Tree’s signature blend of romance, rejuvenation and exotic sensuality in luxury.
So once again In the spirit of this article, I ask you – "What are your top beach Resorts?"
